This is where we have found Keith and Lynn sitting on one of their benches taking a hiking break!
The photo really doesn’t do justice to the view, you can see the valley below, and the Mountains to the East!😯
We passed Keith today coming back downhill, and he told us the rain is stopping.....
I told him never...🤣
Well he is probably right, it can’t rain all summer, can it???🤔
85 uphill floors today, and no rain, awesome!🤗
This also was a first for Silvertop and the Mrs, on a narrow section coming back down we met the lady living in the off grid cabin. Mask on for a social distance pass by...😷

I keep looking and can't find a bench. Is it the tree trunk where they sit? What would you consider "off-grid", @silvertop? Is off-grid living really just living away from everyone else, not necessarily going back to basics of food -clothing -shelter thing. Is it the non- reliance on outside sources for the necessities as electricity? I've seen videos of "off-grid" peeps, but their homes are really a lot ultra modern with amenities more than those who are live modestly in this country. Our America's off-grid living is standard in some areas of other countries I have visited. I say this because other people show off-grid living as living "poorly". So sometimes I get confused with the definition of off-grid living. I think now, it has evolved to living alone away from the urban world... such as living in the mountains. Is it off-grid then if your home is in the middle to a 50 acre land, and no neighbors for daily interaction, a well-built modern home with generated electricity, deep-well source of water, food from grown veggies and dairy and meats from your own livestock, fish from a seeded fish pond?

I found a bug when posting my @actifit post. It looks like if I put in five pictures from my iPhone, they all post correctly. I added photo number six, the picture of the bench that Keith made, and @actifit lost this photo Lol!🙄
Off grid....Keith and Lynn are off-grid, They make their own electricity with solar panels, or in the winter time if they need, a diesel generator for very cloudy days.
Most of the off grid Homes in Colorado that I ran across when I was an electrician were very big beautiful homes just far away from grid electric. I think the age of off grid meaning that you live modestly or live without major appliances is really gone. Living off grid just give you the freedom to not be tied to utilities, It also gives you the freedom to look at pieces of property that may be just outside of the electrical grid but are very desirable!
In the Northwest with winter storms that hit the electrical grid power outages are very common, Most people have backup generators It's a wonderful feeling to be able to make your own electricity!🤗
