I have been wanting to check out a hiking trail for a long time.....actually years!🤣
If you saw my post about the lumber mill that caught on fire, well this is a reforestation forest, initiated by The Great Western Lumber Mill.
All the local horsemen use this network of trails, and I found out today that runners use this as well!
You can see in the second photo of me, where the tree line starts behind me.
This new forest was planted in 1992, with a mix of deciduous and evergreen trees.
The lower section that was clearcut and not replanted is very desolate, I think they left it this way to make a statement.....Before....After!😊
The last photo is the trail head, with all the cars, and Silvertop’s truck parked.

Is that a small chapel in the photo?
I discovered that this is where the local runners go, it heads into the forest Just uphill from this photo.
At the beginning of the trail head where everyone parks, across the street is a small Greek Orthodox Church, from outside it look to be timber framed, very beautiful @silversaver888!😍😍😀
Go in!!! Greek Orthodox Church... I wonder how it looks! Take pictures!
Lol....A while back one of our Worship leaders had grown children that went here. I should have taken a look then! I will try to convince Liz the next time we hike this trail head to walk across the road and take a look😇
