This Bulldozer, and one excavator, are all that remain at the lumber clear cut site on Sumas Mountain!
The loggers are almost finished!😊
Silvertop hiked to the ridge top, to try and see how bad the flooding was down in the valley below……………..
Well…….would you look at that, a baby Douglas Fir tree!🤗
We knew that the loggers were going to replant this forest after they were finished, but I didn’t expect the replanting to start till much later!😇
We have heard, that if they replant baby trees, the loggers get a substantial tax break.
That’s probably the only reason they replanted!
This particular logger is planting the bare minimum of trees!🙄
“Westergreen” a logger on the North Eastern side of the Mountain, plants baby trees no more than six feet apart.
“Nielson logging” is planting seedlings six feet apart along any gravel road, (Where they can be checked easily), and over thirty feet apart anywhere else off the road…………….
Hmmm………….🤔

Down in the valley below, the river level continues to drop!
If you look closely, you can see some of the rain swollen creeks and streams, are starting to recede as well!😇

I am glad to see that they are doing what they should, but I wish they'd plant each tree just a bit closer together than they are. They might not survive between the lack of moisture later in the summer, or the growth of the weeds which will be pretty prolific, or the wildlife eating them. Time will tell how well the replanting does. 🤗😘😍🌹❤️

They were a regular occurrence back in Cincinnati, where we all grew up!
In the Pacific Northwest, they are almost nonexistent!🤔
They are very rare out here, I've only seen a few in the whole 8 years that I've been on the Island, and it's always surprising when they appear! For me too growing up in SW rural NJ, lots and lots of lightning storms! That's how it's been in most places that I've lived, not many lightning storms at all! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
When we first moved to the Pacific Northwest I was at work at a new job and a lightning storm started outside......
Everyone stopped work to look out the windows, I couldn't figure out why, but it's because they're so rare!!🤣
I've seen that in some of the areas that I've lived too! I didn't realize until recently that electrical storms are far more common in some areas than others! 😁🙏💚✨🤙
They were extremely common in Cincinnati, but they didn't last long. A storm could blow in, rattle the windows in the house, and be gone in 30 to 45 minutes and the sun would be back!😎😀👍
That's how it was growing up back East, as well, my friend, they were very common, and they moved quickly! 😁🙏💚✨🤙

There's not really a clear cutoff point, but we do tend to get less rain, and lots more sun, during the summer. This year has been the wettest in years. That we certainly do, my friend, sometimes it's more than you could even imagine. 😁 🙏 💚 ✨ 🤙

Since I love playing, I very often encounter NPCs in games, and their actions are normally only staying in one place or patrolling the same areas over and over (until the end of the respective game). 🎮 I occasionally think that some NPCs in multiplayer games are possibly controlled by ("real") humans! 😆

What I said in my previous (disappeared) reply, how is that any different from most people going about their habitual routine every day, often with no thought or awareness? They used to do that in Asheron's Call with NPCs every now and again. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Asheron's Call was a massive-multiplayer online game that went on for years under Microsoft, then when it was sold to Time-Warner (I think), they ended it. It had quite a large following. I meant that the admins would sometimes 'take over' certain NPCs and play them for a while, to unfold various story lines. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

Some NPCs in (multiplayer) games sometimes behave !WEIRDly, such that some players would guess that some humans (such as game masters) are actually playing them !INDEED. 🎮🤯😅

I'd say that in those cases, if it's any kind of massive-multiplayer game, that admins are likely logging in and having some NPC fun. 😁🙏💚✨🤙

It's nice to see them replanting the trees already! It's nice to know that the forest will return and the land won't be developed into more houses to crowd your part of the forest! It's too bad it takes so long for those trees to grow into big trees though, decades and decades of growth to come!
