SMEDEREVO!!!--My Actifit Report Card: March 18 2020

Hello buddies.

I did 10k steps today.

I went through my build and took a few photos. When I got home I looked at them and decided to tell you something about them.

Church in Smederevo:

Right next to the Danube, in the center of one of the most beautiful city squares in Serbia, framed by a court building and a municipal building, is the Cathedral Church in Smederevo.

The Temple or Church of the Holy Martyr Victorious George is the third largest sacral building in Serbia. It was built in the same way as the Monastery of Manasi. The construction lasted from 1850 to 1854, and the temple was consecrated on the day of St. Andrew the First Priest. The frescoes were painted by Russian icon painter Andriy Bicenko.

Museum in Smederevo

The Smederevo Museum is a local museum of complex type. It was founded on April 12, 1950, and since 1972 it is located in the building of the former Hotel Jadran. Within the Museum there are the following departments and collections: paleontological, archeological, numismatic, historical, ethnological and artistic. The Smederevo Museum holds about 16,000 objects in its holdings. In addition to the basic exhibition exhibit of selected museum exhibits, the Museum has many thematic exhibitions as well as various promotions and lectures. The most representative exhibits are exhibited thematically and chronologically in the basic setting of the Museum in two halls and the lapidarium, so that the history of Smederevo and the Smederevo region can be traced from prehistory, through antiquity, the Middle Ages and the time of the Serbian despotism, until modern and modern times. In order to respond to the demands of the audience and contemporary museology, the Museum in Smederevo is actively working on the reconstruction and adaptation of the basic exhibition setting.

Bakery in Smederevo:

This is perhaps the most significant "monument" for me. I went here every time to eat when I went to school. They always have fresh and delicious pastries.

This bakery is located just across the street from my school.
