My Actifit Report Card and Update: September 28 2020

Hi Everyone,

I've had another active week both physically with counts and with content with another two posts. I managed over 8,000 counts on most days. The weather is still holding out but has become colder. I am still going on regular long walks with Mango the dog down by the lake. Hopefully, I can keep that up for a little while longer.

Content

I posted about the Economic Improvement Proposal (EIP), which was implemented on Steem/Hive about a year ago. It is very difficult to gauge the success of the EIP as so much has happened in the past year. The most significant change since the EIP is the hardfork splitting Steem into Steem and Hive.

I split the review into two main sections. One section considered if the EIP achieved its immediate goal of increasing curation. The other section looked at if the EIP had helped achieve longer term goals such as increased user activity and increased price. The review considered that the impact of EIP is still inconclusive as other things need to happen before the full effects can be seen.

In the other post, I looked at how conspiracy theory is becoming more strongly associated with right-wing politics. I discussed Donald Trump's fondness of promoting conspiracy theories as well as the support Donald Trump has received from well followed conspiracy news networks such as Breitbart and InfoWars.

The post also discussed how moving conspiracy theory to the right-wing helps maintain support for the two party political system. The post also highlighted that Donald Trump's presidency hasn't differed that much from other presidencies and that he is not truly anti-establishment.

Covid Game

Covid-19 restrictions are starting to come back. I am fortunate, as I am not affected by changes made recently. However, another lockdown is still possible as Government and mainstream media are again pushing the dangers of Covid-19. The biggest push could be coming from the Government's top scientists. They presented a scenario where the number of Covid-19 cases could reach 50,000 by mid-October. This scenario is not based on evidence but just a highly unlikely situation where the number of new cases double every week. The media have jumped on this scenario portraying it to be some sort of prediction. I am currently writing a post about the use of the pandemic as a manipulation tool.
