My Actifit Report Card and Update: December 27 2020

Merry Christmas Everyone,

I hope everyone is having a great a Christmas period. It is an unusual Christmas for many with all the Covid-19 restrictions coming back. I hope you can see your families at some point. I also hope the weather is being kind. Snow can be fun but blizzards are not. It has been raining a lot here. Still waiting for the first snow of this winter. It has been snowing just a few suburbs away.

Even though it has been wet, I have able to get out a bit. Yesterday, I was back down by the lake. I wore my Wellington boots. Mango the dog wore his coat. We tried to stay out of the mud but he still got very dirty. He had a nice warm bath when we got home.

I wrote another post about Covid-19. This time I reflected over the events of 2020. I discussed the extent of the virus and the number of deaths linked to the virus. I looked into excess deaths and trends in death rates of several of the most effected countries. It is a nasty virus but the health impacts have been greatly exaggerated. This exaggeration has been used to justify very strict restrictions.

The post demonstrates the economic impact of Covid-19 through statistics such as increased National debt, rising unemployment, and falling GDP. The countries with the strictest restrictions have been most negatively effected.

The post also explores the new Covid-19 vaccines. There is so much we don't know about the vaccines. How effective will they be? What are the side effects? Who should or shouldn't take them? What are the ingredients? How often will they need to be taken? The vaccines were developed in under a year. Other vaccines have taken over 10 years.

In my other post, I announced the results of my Christmas Buying and Selling Game Contest. This time round 5 people entered. I gave away over 45 Hive to a participate and to another person of his or her choosing. This contest was a little different than usual, as the winner was decided based on how much was given away instead of by profit. The contest also ran for 12 days instead of 6. Even though it is difficult to attract people to join the contest, I will keep it running for a little longer. I am hoping the current bull run will attract more people to Hive and therefore more people to this contest. I remember early 2018, my contests would attract over 50 participants. Let's hope those days will return in 2021.

I am currently working on a Christmas post. Every year I write a Christmas post. This year, I am writing about the Christmas movies I have watched. I feel this is appropriate considering the lockdowns and the additional time spent at home. I will also by writing my year-in-review. I will recap my year as well as discuss some of my plans for next year. I will also post Part 2 of 'Eye Opening Year' series. I will be discussing things such as Brexit, rigged elections, socialism, racism, and censorship. Looks like I will be busy over the next couple of weeks.
