Oregon Patriots Militia Feb FTX: Our first winter training exercise.
(Road march in the snow)

Today I drove half-way to Mt.hood, and met up with 7 of my friends with the mission to March in a circle, and learn from our training instructor how to properly March down a road with a full 2-day load-out. [this place was snowed in, and the gate was closed/nobody but us was out there.]

My load-out consisted of Danner Rainforest boots, long socks, Pants (obv.), shirts, 1 tee x2 long sleeve, Carhart heavy coat, Plate carrier+plates, 3 magazines in the carrier, 300Blackout AR pistol(Clear, and empty mag), Hiking backpack with 1 Full ammo can of
300B/o ammo+.40S&W... FULL! And some cloths packed around the ammo can to keep it from bouncing around.

We set out on a logging road, and walked probably 3/4 of a mile to our destination, we marched offset on either side of the road, spread out and watched the tree line on either side, for the beauty that is Oregon’s natural expanses.
I bumped the pack off once we got to the top of the first hill because it was really heavy and uncomfortable with all the layers I was wearing and the plate carrier.. but I jogged back to the the top of that hill after we looped back around.
It was good I dropped my pack because once we went down hill to a big open shooting pit, and took a break, the next move was to traverse through the forest downhill to another shooting spot. This is where I saw a bunch of my buddies slip and slide on their butts occasionally and it was quite amusing haha, especially because I am used to hardcore parkour, and am not phased! Lol

Now we started the walk back, and bounded in what’s called “Covering over-watch” where we split into 3 & 4 man squads and travelled in a fanned out way like this > move, take cover/cover other squad, rinse and repeat.

We did that until we came back the loop, and took a break, and I went to get my backpack.
After that we walked back to our vehicles.

The reason I joined this militia, is to be a voice of reason, and to preach the ideas of unity, and expectance of all walks of life.
Typically the type of folks who gravitate toward these organization are labeled as - radical, right-wing-extremist, anti-government, etc.
I’m happy to have found out that, although some of these folks express or rather repeat “conservative” tropes, when I engage with them in discussion, they are highly amenable to what I have to say in opposition, or when I call out the fact that their points of argument only servers to divide and burn bridges, in other words I am (hopefully) talking some sense into them, or at the vary least bringing up ideas and sentiment that may never be brought up absent my choice to associate.

Such as: community service and engaging with the community, and encouraging them to form similar “grass-roots” organizations in order to insulate our local communities from further insult or injury ie. Police shooting unarmed citizens, or wildfires burning millions of acres/houses being destroyed, among COUNTLESS other possibilities that currently happens every second of every day throughout these United sates, and the world at large.

2nd amendment of the US bill of rights -
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
#decentralized national defense

https://www.oregonlaws.org/ors/396.105
The unorganized militia shall consist of all able-bodied residents of the state between the ages of 18 and 45 who are not serving in any force of the organized militia or who are not on the state retired list and who are or who have declared their intention to become citizens of the United States; subject, however, to such exemptions from military duty as are created by the laws of the United States.

Do you know how to cross post yet? It's a way to share your posts in multiple communities without being accused of farming by tptb here. Hopefully you're using Peakd.com, then if you go the the bottom of your post there will be an option to cross post, then you can select which community you want to cross post to. A second post will be created for that community and the rewards will be directed back to the original post.

No I don’t know how to cross post, that’s why I linked the OP at the top of the post :(
I was using Ecency to post this to actifit and ThePew

I don't think Ecency had the crosspost ability. Peakd is pretty good for mobile use now, though, if you ever want to try it.

Please just tell me if I'm sticking my nose where it doesn't belong. I'm trying to help people avoid gaining the attention of HW unnecessarily, but I realise it might not come across that way.
