Walked a whole lot in the orchard and stacked brush, and used the spring rake to clear the twigs out of the middle and base of the trees, so that when the tractors work they can clear out more Leefs, and not have to try and get as close to the tree as possible.
Gotta clear out as much unnecessary debris before nuts start dropping, sticks will not be good for the the picking machine.
We have this orchard for an estimated 6 more years, because my cousins family sold it, to some development company, that is expanding residential development up to the agricultural boundary. They’ve been working this orchard for more than 20 years, and have been fighting “Blight” for almost the whole time.. but it’ll be sad to see it go.
