🅰️ LIFT IT TO LOOSE IT FOR WEIGHT LOSS [Nov.04.2020] #AutomaticWin

Hi everyone,

I decided I would write about something more technical in terms of general health and weight loss tonight! Here we go!

There’s three different groups of people out there:
*People wanting to loose weight.
*People who are maintaining their weight.
*People who would like to gain weight.

So what does body composition and metabolism have to do with these specific health objectives?

They are both part of the same equation... the solution being which of the above objectives you align with.

Body composition determines your metabolic burn rate and your metabolic burn rate determines your body composition.

Why even talk about this right? Well it’s actually important to understand this as it’s fundamental to understanding how your body works. Better to work with your body than against it... especially if you want to get to your goals quickly!

Your body is comprised of these components:
*Muscle Tissue
*Essential Fat
*Non-Essential Fat
*Bone
*Organs (etc.)

For the purpose of this blog entry we will concern ourselves primarily with the first three of this list: Muscle tissue, essential fat, and non-essential fat.

A lot of people only preoccupy themselves with loosing weight indeterminate of if that weight is made up of muscle or non-essential fat.

A healthier goal to set is one that’s focused on loosing the non-essential body fat and gaining muscle... and here’s the thing about setting a goal at this level.

When you train for muscle gain by, primarily, lifting weights that’s going to ramp up your metabolic rate.

Who cares right?!

Well you should!

For every pound of muscle you gain your body will burn approximately 50 calories in maintenance over the course of a week. Gaining an extra 10 pounds of muscle means that your burning 500 calories by the end of the week. This is what I mean by body composition working together with your metabolic rate.

I tell my clients, as a reinforcement to their continued results, to lift weights to loose weight because their are 3500 calories stored in every pound of non-essential body fat.

Most people try to solve the problem of weight loss the wrong way. They attempt to cut back their calorie intake by 500.

Instead of doing it this way add 10 pounds of muscle. That’s the quickest and easiest way to to weight loss!

It seems a bit counterintuitive doesn’t it?!

Wil! You want me to gain weight to loose it? You want me to lift weight to loose weight?

I know! It sounds crazy doesn’t it!?

But it really does work!

If you eat right and lift weights to gain those 10 pounds your actually going to loose about 1 pound of non-essential body fat every 7 weeks... While you sleep! No diet depravation required!

10 pounds of muscle’s metabolic burn rate is 500 calories a week right? Theirs 3,500 calories in every pound of fat correct? Divide 3,500 calories by the 500 your muscles are automatically burning and you get 7. So your fat loss rate is 1 pound every 7 weeks. (Edit Correction)

It doesn’t matter what your doing (You could even be relaxing in a comfy chair!) your burning up 1 pound of that troublesome fat. It can’t continue to cling to your body and slow down your results! It’s going to turn into something useful instead. Maintenance for your improving physique!

This is why understanding body composition and your metabolic rate matters so much. This is the winning formula to reaching your weight goals weather your loosing, maintaining, or gaining weight! This is the easy way.

And by increasing your metabolic burn rate your going to be able to eat a few more of the healthy things you love instead of attempting to will power your way through another starvation diet.

So don’t try to cut calories (unless they are the unhealthy kind). Don’t step on the weight scale looking to loose weight (in general). Don’t run on the treadmill for endless hours. Cut that out and begin a weight lifting program TODAY!

That’s the quickest and easiest way to getting a body that’s working for you not against you!

Great stepping and congratulations on the automaticwin. You are totally right about gaining muscle for burning fat and losing weight. I was reading somewhere that shorter exercises are more beneficial and that spending hours on the treadmill running can be quite detrimental as the body produces stress hormone cortisol. While weight lifting and compound exercises are the way to go. I have a few weights here at home that I use from time to time; I think I will dedicate more time to that.
Thank you for sharing and do enjoy a wonderful weekend ahead :}

Not to mention (in addition to the increased cortisol) the depletion of ATP energy reserves throughout the body... Also the problem with just "burning calories" on an endless loop of treadmill is that your not just burning fat calories and losing valuable time, your also stripping away the muscle tissue you worked so hard to claim.

Your right. Short bursts of activity are better. Less wear and tear on the body with an increase in muscle development and it's maintenance.

So yes! Picking up those weights is a good idea Eric! I'll be doing much more of that as well! 🙌
