#wednesdaywalk photo highlight reel! Fall

I now really look forward to humpday every week as I build a little more steps into my day to share some outdoors views with @tattoodjay and the active folks on Hive.

What better way to share some of thexscenwry from my nice little town, get in a few extra steps, double up on the rewards with @Actifit, and join in the active social club.

This is the time of year, just north of the American border, where the days get shorter and rapidly cooler. The trees start to light up and we try and eloquently make the transition into fall.

A quick walk down by the water downtown shows many shades of leaves as the frost has hit overnight a couple times and the sugars in the leaves react vibrantly.

Late afternoon looks a little like evening with this cloud cover but there is still some good light as September draws to a close. Pretty soon, this will become the time for sunset as wageslaves will be leaving work at 5 in the dark.

The willows still have most of their green leaves and the water is a touch high because of fall rain. There are fewer geese on the small lake as some of them have started the trip south and it is almost time to park the local swans in the barn for the winter.

The bandshell really didn’t see any of its normal action this summer as it was anything but normal. Here is hoping that next year sees the return of the live outdoor music as it stands tall through the snowfall.

I do enjoy fall in part because some people start to hibernate. A walk along this path comes with many people in the spring and summer, while fall and winter make it almost like a private tour. Every season is a good one to walk and I look forward to late fall and winter outdoor solitude.

A drive is like a walk right? Not really but I have somewhere to go before my next appointment through downtown by city hall.

How about a stop at one of my favourite local breweries? I hear that they reward #wednesdaywalk participants with 5$ pints!

And there it is. A full pint of delicious IPA for $5 cdn (that is barely over $4 usd and approximately 34 $Hive for a more universal currency. Best deal in town.

I also had the added bonus of visiting with the brewer to get the inside scoop about their latest collaboration I will highlight this week on #beersaturday.

Feels like a long week already but that is a good thing as I start the back 9 of the week. Speaking of back 9, I did get 9 holes in as part of the beginning of this week.
