#SublimeSunday - The Day the Music Returned!
Lockdowns and stay at home orders are manageable when you are so digitally connected to your friends and music. Still, when things open up and you are invited to an event, you gotta go!
Today, I am back at one of my favourite haunts celebrating some vinyl and joining friends I haven’t had the chance to hang with for a while.
Mista D is on the 1s and 2s today, spinning a mix of requests by way of records as provided by those in attendance.
It is the first BYOV night since the lockdown and the 5th anniversary of the first show. So great to see familiar faces and others supporting local artists and celebrating away from zoom for what seems like too long.
The brunch menu holds some wonder as a mid afternoon snack might just hit the spot! It is snatched away by the ladies as is the way.
The eggs Benny snack is apparently delicious as indicated by how long it didn’t last. The chefs pay us a visit and relay some of their secrets.
Maybe a pint? Hell yes a pint!
It makes you really appreciate the ability to be out, visiting friends, listening to music and enjoying a welcome change of scenery. The community seems to be carefully waking waking up from hibernation and smiling through masks.
Only 5k steps as you really can’t dance or mingle 100% yet. Still, makes for a #sublimesunday to see traces of spring and community.
