A Token Red Card To Spoil Arsenal's Partey

Being a part time Arsenal fan, I watched the Carabao Cup game tonight and didn't quite know what to expect in terms of a result. However, one outcome was never in doubt.

And that was an Arsenal player getting sent off!

This time it was Thomas Partey and you just have to laugh with a wry smile. The dude gets dumped out the African Cup of Nations, catches a flight back to London as he wants to play for Arsenal.

Arrives at midday, comes off the subs bench half way through the second half at 1-0 down, then does two shocking fouls within 3 minutes of each and is sent off!

I know Arsenal played resolutely with 10 men in last week's first leg of the cup but that was still 0-0 when Xhaka saw red!

Perhaps Arteta should just field 10 players next match and strategise during the week with one less player.

There was a stat that came up at the end of the match which showed since Arteta became Arsenal manager in Dec 2019, his team have faced 14 red cards. The next highest team in that time has 8!

Liverpool were the stronger team on the night, can only imagine what might have happened if Laca's shot wasn't saved on to the bar in the first half.

Still, at least there's 4th place to play for... or maybe finishing a match with 11 players is the new trophy lol.

Ah well, back to the studio!

Part-time Arsenal fan lol. I'm a full time fan and I didn't even finish the match.

I was on the shitter in the first 20 minutes, I could hear the commentator talking about how awesome we're playing but didn't see it.

When I finally came to the TV, the game had settled down and Liverpool slightly edged us.

After the second goal, I just switched to playing COD. Too much stress for my young heart.

I think players are actually putting in a lot of effort and the red cards show their commitment. I like that everybody puts in a shift and you can see it on the pitch.

Ah you missed the best bit when we actually could have taken the lead but they got a scuffed shot that alluded 3 defenders and went in which settled them down and that was it really!

I don't think I've heard COD as being less stressful than watching Arsenal though! That game's full of sweats and feel like you're playing to defend your life every time lol!

Things are looking a little better for the gunners though. They do seem to be a little more solid but its the rashness from individual players like Xhaka, Gabriel etc that just costs the games. Need to sort that out big time for a shot at top 4

LoL. Battle royale is stressful and intense but vanguard has a multiplayer mode that's just chaotic and very fast paced. Loads of fun and addictive.

Yeah well the team still has some growing to do. We're racking up red cards but overall, we actually look very solid.

We don't experience those ugly losses anymore and hold our ground against City and Liverpool.

If we continue down this road, make improvements in certain areas, I believe that inn two years, we'll be actively challenging for the top spot.

I like the optimism, let's see if he can bring in more players in the summer to strengthen the squad. Need European football to attract players though!

I should check out some of the sports games one of these days. I haven’t watched a game in a long ass time, maybe 7 or 8 years lol. Seems like arsenal is trying to get some records for the most flags huh? Lol

That is a good stint without watching sport! Your stress levels are probably a lot lower as a result! Lol yeah Arsenal seem to have a very poor disciplinary record but at least they are top of that particular table 😂
