Which Is The Most dangerous Sport?

Sports can be dangerous even though some don't look like it. You only realize how dangerous one sport is when you see an accident. I remember watching Winter Olympics, snowboarding to be precise and the speaker who was presenting the participants, had the habit or listing the injuries of the athletes as well as their personal data (age, country they were representing, wins and so on). Maybe there was not a habit but a must, maybe that's what speakers do when they are broadcasting a skateboarding event, I don't know.

Either way it makes you think how strong these athletes are to take that kind of a risk in order to win a competition. These accidents mostly resulted in serious bone fractures that can keep an athletes away from sport for as long as a year in some cases and other have to give it up as they are never going to be fit again to compete.

I was curious to see if there's a list, some kind of statistics about that the most dangerous sports are and found one here. To be totally honest i didn't have any expectations, not formed opinion but the lest got me by surprise as according to them, the most dangerous sport is horseback riding. It is dangerous, I know, falling from a horse can even kill you. Then comes gymnastics, which is also very dangerous, I've seen it with my own eyes how many times! Third is base jumping, which is for adrenaline junkies in my opinion, no offense. Fourth is rugby, @cryptoandcoffe can confirm that for sure.

There are some statistics about the injuries divided by age groups and surprisingly basketball has the most injuries, followed by Bicycle riding and football.
