How (not) to assemble furniture

Me assembling furniture often looks like a hurricane has picked up all the tools, furniture pieces, screws and whatnots and thrown them all across the room. It's a good chance I finish the piece using a manual, but if something doesn't fit, things turn sour.

A few months ago, a paper thin piece of our kid's bed broke, due to me being too rash. Spent a few days looking for a replacement part, then gave up, but a plank and with some woodwork, made a stronger part instead. Hope that's gonna outlast the original bed parts.

Now faced with another issue. We ordered a nice bedroom dresser from an e-shop of a furniture maker, but when assembling, some holes in the drawer front panels were misdrilled in the factory, ergo, the drawers were too wide and didn't fit. Of course, we immediately asked for new details, which took only 3 months to arrive. Upon opening the parcel with the parts, it appeared they sent totally different parts. Two more months of waiting and the correct spares arrived.

But now one of the lower drawers sliders wouldn't lock. I tried re-adjusting, moving, re-attaching, singing to it but what's shit is shit (don't know whether it applies to the drawer slider or my skills as a furniture assembler). Anyway, eventually I applied too much pressure, and of course the slider was smashed and the whole room was filled with the balls from a ball bearing.

Alas, you can't find this kind of slider in our stores, I've checked almost everywhere. So, I purchased a bit different kind. What, these motherfuckers don't come with manuals? How the fuck am I gonna install it then? Ok, I'mma be calm and just do it. Of course, it didn't work and I broke it. Again. Again, picking up the greasy balls from all over the room.

I'm just gonna nail this drawer shut. I'm good with nails.
