Many things can happen and you might give up learning martial arts. This is life. Life is not always like butterfly, sunshine, and rainbows. It has ups and downs. But you can always get back to where you left if you really want to do it.

It is because you think that it is cool to learn. You see martial arts movies and decide to fight like them. Or, you want to participate in martial arts competition and be a champion.

You see in movies people do different impressive stuff like flying in the sky and kick, throw one punch and the bad guy gets hit on the wall. And the wall gets broken. So it is so powerful. You want to do something like that.

The thing is, what you see in movies, that's for entertainment. Frankly speaking, many things you see in martial arts movies are not realistic. So don't make decision based on something that is not true.

If you want to participate in the competition and be a champion, that's fine. You can learn martial arts and do better in competition. You can make your dreams come true. You have to have patience, and dedication to get there.

Before starting to learn martial arts, ask yourself why. That's your driving force to keep learning martial arts. You can have many reasons to learn martial arts. One of the most important reasons for learning martial arts is for self defense. That's the main reason for most of the people. So what is your reason for learning martial arts?

That's great! We don't expect a situation where we have to fight for self defense. But things happen. It is better to be prepared to face unfavorable situations. Not only self defense, but martial arts also teach kids a lot of things.

Thinking of letting my kids learn martial arts someday.

Glad to know that. Thank you very much @michaelcabiles for your feedback! Really appreciate that!

Even when we do exercise for the first time, it feels uncomfortable because we are not used to moving our body in a certain way. Glad to know that. Everyone should learn some self defense. We just don't know when we need that to defend ourselves.
