Nate Diaz versus Anthony Pettis, MMA History Goes Down Tonight

avatar

Two legendary fighters set to face off and I really can't even contain my excitement. This entire fight card is awesome, but something about this fight really stands out.

Anthony has been fighting in the UFC since 2011. Nate has been in the UFC even longer, since 2007. They've both been fighting since they were very young. Anthony Pettis was even a UFC Lightweight Champion once upon a time. Nate has been a high quality journeyman of the sport, with two notable epic fights with Conor McGregor. They've both had Hall of Fame careers one hundred percent.

When I describe those facts you might think these are older guys past their prime. But they are far from it. Nate is 34 and Pettis is 32. These dudes are really young veterans, young OGs.

These guys were huge back when I first started to follow the UFC. That's a special time in my life really, since I have become such a big fan of the sport. Now tonight they're finally set to face off.

With such a deep professional mixed martial arts history it's really surprising they have never fought before. Not that there hasn't been heat between these two in the past. Diaz at one point in time attempted to jump Anthony Pettis at a nightclub. Nate has stated that he wants to beat up 'The Wheaties box dude'. Back when Pettis was champion he graced the cover of the cereal box.

The thought of this fight gets my heart pumping and gives me nostalgia. This fight is surely going to be fireworks. I highly doubt it will be boring, anyway. This fight is going to be god damn historical people.

I like both of these fighters, I don't even want to predict this one. I just want to watch, appreciate, and enjoy.

Hope you enjoy watching this fight as much as I do. Modern day warriors. Steem on, sport on.

I've never rooted for Diaz in the past...but tonight.
I'd like to see him win after no fights in the last two years.

Same! It would be refreshing for the UFC to see a vintage Diaz performance.

Absolute dog fight! I thought Nate was about to finish Pettis with those nasty knees. Diaz seems hungry I would love to see that Masvidal-Diaz fight!

"These dudes are really young veterans, young OGs." I like that statement from you. I totally agree with that. This is an exciting fight. I haven't seen Diaz fight in a long time. Nice write-up dude
