When I first heard about this fight it made no sense to me yet I was intrigued by the thought of these two trying to take each other's head off. I'll be honest, I don't really like Colby and what he brings to the table in his fights. Plus the way he portrays himself, somehow funny yet very annoying and fake at the same time. Oh wait, well call them heels for a reason. Colby is well known as the most hated man in the MMA community, it goes back to UFC Fight Night 119 in SΓ£o Paulo.

"Brasil you're a dump, all y'all filthy animals suck..."

Colby said in his post-fight interview after defeating the local legend Demian Maia. You can guess twice how everyone reacted, especially the Brazilians who are always a hostile crowd started throwing things and as promoted Colby made chaos for months to follow. Then there was the "Woodley drama" but I'll pass on that because the fight never happened after Woodley lost the belt to Kamaru Usman and that chapter kinda closed itself. Colby did win the welterweight @interim belt back at UFC 225 which he proudly wears till this day even tho 2 championship fights for the @real belt happened since then. Did I mention Colby wants to make the welterweight division great again? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

In his own words: "I'm giving people title shots, Lawler is the first". What a joke, funny stuff tho I have to give it to him. The Chaos is currently on a 6 fight winning streak and if he wins this fight VS Lawler he should fight next for the undisputed UFC title VS current champion Kamaru Usman.

He took a year off, lets see how he does...

Againts the former welterweight king Robbie Lawler, a true vet who's in my opinion, one of the greats. Countless epic wars and highlight reels for the ruthless one in his long career. Who can forget the Rory Mcdonald and Carlos Condit fights where we really saw what the word savage means. You'll never watch a boring Lawler fight, Robbie doesn't say much before and after the fights for that matter but always brings bad intentions even just by looking in opponents eyes.

Lawler VS Mcdonald at UFC 189

Robbie is coming from a controversial first-round submission loss to Ben Askren back in March, it was an early stoppage and I'm sure most of you would agree with me. Nevertheless, I think he was winning until that point but just got screwed over and Askren refused the rematch. So the Colby fight does make sense in a way, an opportunity to get back in title contention picture.

How I see this fight going?

There was a period when both trained at American Top Team until Robbie changed camp, and knowing each plays a factor here. Gym wars are where you learn the most about other fighters you train with. Both have a wrestling background but of course, I have to give Colby the edge in this department. Not so much in stand up, I have seen Lawler put people to sleep numerous times while Colby doesn't possess such power or is he a great striker. Putting pressure on Robbie as he does in other fights could be fatal for him. Robbie is used to punishment and thrives as the fight progresses.

I just hope he comes in shape and ready for war, we have seen him not pulling the trigger which cost him the w. Colby is very predictable with his combinations and shots for takedowns quite reckless, flying knees are the new trend VS wrestlers and he might eat one if he's not careful. Robbie needs to move a lot and not be stationary, wait for the openings to land those bombs we all love to see. Boy would I love to see him knock Colby out!

What do Yall think? Who takes whose head off?

Thanks for stopping by, stay active!
