Los Angeles Lakers are the Current Kings of the West

West is a tough conference throughout the years. It has been in competition throughout the years. Now still, it's still as entertaining as it is before. We talk about LA Lakers and Clippers, Houston Rockets, Denver Nuggets, Dallas Mavericks, and Utah Jazz. Normal contenders Portland Trailblazers and San Antonio Spurs has been struggling at the bottom of the standings, but still they have great players playing.

LA Lakers on the other hand has been struggling since Kobe Bryant's departure. For a couple of years, Lakers has been out of the playoffs. Their rebuild started with the young guns - D'Angelo Russel, Kyle Kuzma, Julius Randle, and Brandon Ingram. Then, Russel was traded for Lonzo Ball's playing time. Then eventually, all these guys except Kuzma were shipped out for Anthony Davis being paired with Lebron.

All the management goal was to bring Lakers to its normal position, battling on top which is quite understandable why they traded their young guns for Anthony Davis who is playing on his prime. It will take around 5-7 years for Davis to lose his tough, based on my assumption so its still a great deal. He's someone Lebron needs to become a championship contender.

Now, look at the standings. Los Angeles Lakers is in solo position in the Western and in the NBA overall standings. The team built this year has been having players hungry for title. This season they were able to acquire Dwight Howard, Demarcus Cousins, Danny Green, Avery Bradley, and Anthony Davis. The team plays so good under coach Vogel, which managed to develop a great chemistry for the squad.

But it isn't an assurance for the squad to contend titles. They're still 15/82 games and there's a lot of things to happen. I hope there will be minimal injuries for this squad before they get to playoffs because losing key players will be lethal. Right now, the most difficult teams to handle in the west are Houston Rockets and LA Clippers for me. This will be exciting in the next couple of games.
