Carles Alena made his debut for FC Barcelona's U16 team in the summer of 2013. The now 23-year-old midfielder had previously been part of Barca's youth academy. Now, however, the race appears to have been run for the La Masia player.

The midfield talent is apparently not part of Ronald Koeman's plans. The Dutch coach has thus only given Alena playing time in five games - or 170 minutes - this season. in the 2018/19 season, Alena got 29 games, while in the last half of last season he was loaned out to Real Betis.

Rumors have recently sent Alena to Getafe, where a contract stretching to the end of this season is reportedly waiting for the talented midfielder. It is still unknown whether Aleñà will end up in Getafe, but according to Koeman he has chosen to leave Barcelona.

"Aleñà has the club's permission to seek his resignation from the club," said Ronald Koeman, according to Goal.com.

Once everything has fallen into place, I will be able to give my opinion, but there are players who have the opportunity to decide whether they want to stay in the club or not. He has decided that he will leave the club.

Carles Aleñà's departure from FC Barcelona is made probable by the fact that the 23-year-old midfielder is not part of the Barca squad that will face Athletic Club Bilbao on Wednesday night, although the talented Spaniard is apparently not injured. Thus, it may be a matter of days before Aleñà is introduced in a new club.
