There are few days without a football match from one of the Belgian teams this season. In the case that AA Gent would somehow manage to qualify for the Champions League, that would mean that there are matches every day of the week during when there are European matches which honestly is not something I would be looking forward to. I see it as highly unlikely though...
Dynamo Kiev vs AA Gent
Somehow, the match last week saw 3 goals of which 2 in the first half with Dynamo Kiev looking the more mature team and AA Gent just lacking this right now. The match ended in a 1-2 victory which makes it so that AA Gent will have to score 2 goals tonight at least if they want a chance to qualify. Kiev won 8 of their last 9 matches, their squad is complete and they have a 12-2 goal saldo being on top in their league. They love to play on the counter and don't shy away from doing this at home also. AA Gent on the other hand had a horrible start of the season taking 6 on 21 in the league with a 4th coach change about to take place. They on top suffer a lot of injuries and the chairman didn't even make the trip tonight. Key Player Odidja is out and the same goes for Bezus, & Yaremchuk while players as Chakvetaze & Kums are not at 100% and might not start. Based on statistics, teams losing 1-2 at home have a 6.3% chance to turn it around and still qualify. Nothing whatsoever points to AA Gent being able to win tonight. The most likely scenario is for the home team to crawl back in defense luring on the counter. AA Gent will have to take risks sooner than later as even a 0-1 victory is not enough. So the team that is complete and has more quality who are playing at home and are able to play their favorite style against an out of form team that plays away with many important missings and has to take risks leaving space in defense at some point makes me highly favor the home side. I'm more than happy taking the risk on
FC Dynamo Kiev -0.5 @ 1.985 as a pre-game bet. I don't expect a miracle to happen but it remains football after all so who knows.
