Bad day for Belgian teams in the Europa League yesterday as they all lost their matches. I ended the mid-week with a limited loss overall and there are 8 more matches before the much-needed international break to have a go at. I remain cautious for now as many teams will have some extra fatigue or last-minute covid cases and there are still no fans allowed in the stadiums. Tonight starts with KV Mechelen vs Charleroi...

KV Mechelen vs Charleroi

KV Mechelen took a surprise draw last week away against Club Brugge mostly because the home team was not focussed enough. They should have enough quality in the team, but so far it all just hasn't been good enough which has put them in 15th place with 10 points. Today they will once again miss Vrancxk while Engvall is injured again. Defour will be able to play but likely won't last 90 minutes. Charleroi started the league excellent with 18 on 18, they had a little dip afterward with 2 losses and a draw but picked in again last week with a classic Charleroi win in an unexciting match. When it comes down to betting, Charleroi is not a team I'm willing to oppose unless they are a big favorite and I don't trust KV Mechelen enough to make them a betting option. Charleroi only won 1 of their last 5 away matches and only 2 times in the 7 last matchups between Mechelen. Both tend to be low in 1st half goals (Mechelen only 0.2 goals at home on average and Charleroi 1 on average in their away matches). I just took a tiny bet on 1st Half Under 1 @ 2.19. Mechelen also only once won their corners score at home with 1 corner difference which is quite remarkable. Overall this is one of those matches where I will just wait and see hoping something good will come up to bet on live depending on how the match evolves. There aren't many scorelines that would come as a complete surprise to me in this match.
