I kept betting pretty low-profile on Wednesday with only 3 bets in 2 matches which went 2W-1L for some good profit. Plenty of matches today to cover with the first one being a league match which starts around 17:00 followed by 2 Europa League matches at 19:00 and a final match at 21:00. The Europa League is not all too interesting with both Standard and AA Gent having nothing to play for and reasons to conserve energy with a busy schedule ahead still.
Eupen vs KV Mechelen
KV Mechelen has been showing some good form in the last matches yet they only managed to take 1 win in their last 5 matches being stuck in 15th position. Today they are still missing Defour and Vranckx who is key to them. In the matches without him previously they suffered and after he got a red card in the last match they also fell back a lot. Eupen has shown against Charleroi that they have a solid team and that they are in a good form. Then again, Charleroi is on a bad streak and lost to Waasland yesterday and it is especially away from home where Eupen shines. I could make a case for both sides but also against them and it overall looks quite even which is reflected in the Draw No Bet line. Mechelen has been a team low on corners this season not having had a single away match with more than 10 corners creating an average of 3.8, Eupen at home is 3-3 on over/under 9.5 creating an average of 7. This made me take a medium bet on
Eupen -0.5 Corners @ 1.740 which is the only pre-game position I got into. I'm hoping to get a better view of things in-game.
AA Gent vs Liberec
AA Gent remained in a bad form last weekend showing bad scoring and finishing power as all their key strikers were out. Yaremchuk will be back (after having had covid) today and Odidja is also expected to play. I need to see the line-up confirmed though before taking any bets. Liberec is also in bad form and only took 3 points in their home match against Gent where they played a counter-style game. They win with 1-0 in a game where it was 1way-traffic for AA Gent. So it's a match between 2 teams that have nothing to play for. These tend to either end in crazy matches or total uneventful matches. I'm forced to wait for the line-ups to come out and to see how the match starts in order to place any bets.
No Pre-Game Bets
Antwerp vs Ludogorets
Antwerp played a really offensive match, winning 3-2 to Leuven last weekend and created a whopping 29 attempts on goal with 9 of those on target. They came with the intention to play last week away against LASK and won 0-2. The most remarkable pattern they show is that they start halves really hot often also scoring an early goal. Ludogorets is with 0 points in the group and has nothing to play for. Antwerp got a couple big chances early on in the away match against Ludogorets and had chance after chance around minute 28' having the match under control without scoring. After falling 1-0 behind early in the 2nd half they managed to make c come back to win with 1-2. I do expect a strong start again from Antwerp who should win this match but also might get a goal against. I took bets on
Antwerp 1st Half Corners -1 @ 1.970 and
Antwerp 1st Half -0.5 @ 1.943 both small-medium. Antwerp created 11 Corners last match and won the matchup with 2-8 away against Ludogortes who lost their corners away with 5-0 and 6-1 in the other EL matches. Only when Antwerp are in the lead they start being an lower corners team which is an angle I continue to look at for live bets.
Rangers vs Standard
Standard played a good match against Poznan winning 2-1 in the final minute despite playing with 10 in the 2nd half and they played a dull 0-0 away against Anderlecht last weekend. Overall they are in average form and in the home match against Rangers they didn't show enough conviction. Standard is unlikely to get anywhere in the Europa League and it remains a question of how motivated they will be even though they showed good signs of that in the match against Poznan. Vanheusden is still out and so is Amallah while Oulare is suspended. A home win for Rangers would be a logical result but this is fully reflected in the odds. I will wait this one out and see how it goes live.
