Niners & Kicker Robbie Gould Finally Reach Deal - Has Been Living in a Hotel For 2 Seasons
Niners kicker Robbie Gould (pronounced 'gold') has finally reached a deal (at the last minute) with the San Francisco 49ers.
On it's face this would seem like a typical NFL feel good story, but stick with me here.
Gould was the kicker for the Chicago Bears since the year 2005. He was a member of the team for 10 years. Prior to his tenure with the Bears he worked in the construction business in the state of Pennsylvania.
Just a couple years ago Gould was traded to the 49ers for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. He is arguably the best kicker in the league, making 72 out of 75 field goal attempts within this 2 year span.
Just a little while ago it was reported that Gould had agreed to a brand new contract with the 49ers. He will be making 10.5 MILLION DOLLARS for two seasons worth of work with the team.
To me personally, this seems like the typical story of a great kicker finally getting paid what he is actually worth . . . until I read the second to the last paragraph of this ESPN article:

Apparently, has been living in a hotel for the past two seasons while his wife and family have remained in the cold city of Chicago.
Each season is 17 weeks long and he is filthy rich. So my question is . . . WTF?!
