My Actifit Report Card: February 18 2020
When @laputis and I used to practice organ duets from Easter Oratorio by Bach before, we would get into a fight who is going to play some harder parts, for example, from C clefs. And yesterday was promising to be a similar practice. But luckily, we played from a vocal score, so C clefs were not a problem anymore. What was a problem - a solo part.
I wanted to take the continuo part and play the bass with the pedals sitting on the left side of the bench. Also, I would play some notes from the lower stave with my hand thus filling in the harmony. Ausra was sitting on the right and she would play from the upper stave - the instrumental parts. The problem arose when the soloist had to enter (soprano or tenor). Even though it was notated above the instrumental parts, she felt it was too difficult for her. And so again, the fight was about to begin.
Luckily, she suggested I take solo part with my right hand. It worked... The only challenge left is the pedals for me.
