How Does Your Vote Actually Distribute Tokens?

Which is a very important achievement.

But how does one actually distribute those?

Can you vote once and give multiple tokens - all that you have staked and correspond to the authors tags? Or do you only give the one whose frontend you use? People create alts for voting with specific tokens. Is that necessary? Or is it convenient in another way, although not really necessary? What if the receiver of the vote doesn't have the tag?
