Also -- I think your math might be a bit off. If you're running 6km in 25 minutes, you're actually moving along at about 14.4km/hr -- which is actually quite fast!

With you performance of 12km in 72 minutes, that's around 6:00min/km, and I'd say it's a SOLID pace for a novice runner.
