Weekly running update Early December 2019 - First time Park Run Volunteering

Three runs this week, and I volunteered at the Park Run for the first time which was nice of me, wasn't it!

I track most of my runs with Garmin, which auto uploads to Strava, and upload my walking/ running totals via my alt account (@self-track) via @actifit.

Weekly running summary:

  • Total runs 3
  • Total KM - 16K
  • Total time spent standing around in the cold - 2 hours.

Sunday's Run - 6 K 'fake' long run.

Just building back up to the long run, I know it's not long, but the longest I've run in over a month, so gently does it - took it slow.

Tuesday's Run - 5.5K treadmill intervals

Actually quite pleased with these - it was cold, so I went tread not track. I did 7 400 meter intervals at:

  • 14 KPH
  • 14.5 KPH
  • 15 KPH *3
  • 15.5 KPH
  • 16 KPH

At least I think that was it. I only intended to do 6, but I added in an extra one as I feeling good. Overall quite easy for me, all at a 1 degree incline, not so much form left after all!

Thursday's Run: 5K 'fast'

Just a five K blast... just under 22 minutes and a personal record for a lap of my local park. Pleased with this!

Saturday's Volunteering: Park Run!

Not much to say really - I'm giving my form a little while longer before I start back again, so I volunteered, and it was quite nice - had some nice chats, cheered a few people on, did some barcode scanning, all in all not a bad way to spend a Saturday morning.

Next week's plans

Rinse and repeat me thinks. No Park Run next Saturday as there's horse racing, so I get another 3 week run week, which is good for me!
