Weekly running update WB 01/ 09/ 2019/

Four runs last week, which I'm pleased with as I was working away in Plymouth, and managed to keep up with the programme despite being stressed out with work.

Bit behind with this, also been enjoying a break from Steem - bit sick of seeing so many posts about how great Steem is getting over-rewarded, especially in the context of a static steem price, which suggests the opposite. As far as I see it, this conflation is just adding to the downward pressure on the price as it makes Steem look like a massive closed echo chamber which no one other than steemians pay any attention to: hardly an attractive prospect for external investors.

My hopes now rest on an irrational price surge on the back of a Bitcoin Bull Run. That's a possibility.

Anyway, back to the running.... I track most of my runs with Garmin, which auto uploads to Strava, and upload my walking/ running totals via my alt account (@self-track) via @actifit.

Weekly running summary:

  • Total kilometers this week: 27
  • No. of runs: 4

(Last) Sunday's Run - 10K around Mordor

Or at least Mordiford - I had fun with what someone's labelled 'cardiac hill' on Strava about 3Ks in - a short steep hill!

Tuesday's Run: 6K Plymouth Jaunt + steps

Capture.PNG

Out after work in Plymouth - a nice little gentle jog up and down the sea front then two little 'sprint's up the steps on Plymouth Hoe - good place for a workout

Thursday's Run - Sea front and Hoe intervals

Capture.PNG

I had to leave @ 6.00 a.m. to get these in! I had intended to do 6~*400 meter brutal intervals on the Hoe, but I just couldn't face that much running in a straight line, so I made up a few intervals along the sea front and then did 2 sets of serious 400 meters to finish. Still a good session!

Saturday's Run: Park Run!

Capture.PNG

Something like 21.15 - a hit my desired pace, except I went out a little too fast - for some reason it was just a fast start and I went with it... suffered a bit on lap 2. I got it in though! I've now had three good strong runs in a row, nudging that average time faster and faster!

That second KM was way too fast!

Next week's running plans

Rinse and repeat this weeks - just up the intensity a little - I'm ramping up the intervals to 800s, converting 1 400 to an 800 per week.

I also want to pace that damn Park Run better next Saturday, messed that up a bit last week!
