Atletico Madrid tops the Laliga race as Barcelona falls behind bars!

The Laliga title race has finally come down to a coin situation, it's either the head (Atletico Madrid) or the tail (Real Madrid). Form the very beginning of this season, Atletico Madrid has been quite vivid and obvious enough as the title winner but somehow in the middle of the season, they lost so much points which led to fans and people doubting their ability to win the title this season.

For many years now, it's been either Real Madrid of Barcelona and often times, it's been just Atletico Madrid challenging the two Spanish giants. It's really a good thing to see Atletico fight hard again this season and more like a blessing for the likes of Suarez and Atletico Madrid' s coach (Simeone) if peradventure Atletico Madrid wins the league.

WAR AT METROPOLITANO!

It's always an interesting thing in football when there is or there are news or records guiding the results of a match before it even starts. Knowing fully well that Atletico Madrid would or are likey to lose the title this season if they had refused to secure a win at home against Osasuna made it quite easy to predict how the match was going to go. Even though Atletico Madrid would eventually lose the match, personally, I was sure they would dominate the match with so much attacking force and long strikes.

I didn't see the live match but for the fact that it's not Real Madrid nor Barcelona topping the league table made me so interested in this season's Laliga race and then, I decided to see some couple of highlights of the Laliga matches. I saw this particular highlight of Atletico Madrid hosting Osasuna some hours ago and I was quite impressed seeing what Atletico Madrid portrayed on the pitch. They played with so much energy just like a team so much interested in lifting the League trophy already but there's still a threat out there!

Suarez has been one of the best things that has happened to Atletico Madrid and he is also likely to be one of the most luckiest footballer this season. Considering his departure from Barcelona some months ago, it was more like a demotion for him in the sight of many including myself but now, it's all about Suarez at Atletico Madrid even with the trophy on sight.

Suarez now has 20 league goals and 3 assist for Atletico Madrid this season after the winning goal against Osasuna yesterday. Seeing the highlight was like watching the best of Suarez because I saw him almost every time Atletico Madrid gets an attacking opportunity on Osasuna's goal post and he personally had so many beautiful touches during the match and also lost so many chances but it was a great and beautiful evening for him as he was able to secure the winning goal for his team.

REAL MADRID KEEPS FIGHTING!

I personally find it funny to realize that even with Real Madrid's many sloppy performances this season, they still have the chance to fight for the league title. Well, that has been a huge mistake on Atletico Madrid's part right from the first half of the season. They could have sealed their names on the trophy long time ago but they took many chances unguarded and now it's hunting them so bad.

Personally, I don't see Real Madrid winning the title just as I don't see Atletico Madrid losing to Valladolid in their last match for the season. Real Madrid would be taking on Villarreal as their last league match for the season. I would have said the match would definitely be a tough one for Real Madrid but Villarreal would be taking on Manchester United in the UEL final in Poland just 3 days after playing Real Madrid and losing to Real Madrid would cost them nothing. Villarreal is currently 7th on the league table which means if they finish there, they'll be playing the UEL qualifiers next season but if they appear lucky enough to win the UEL final against Manchester United then they would appear in the next UCL instead of struggling for a space in the UEL.

Real Madrid successfully set a ground for war by picking a narrow win at Bilbao and that's just the only thing currently denying Atletico Madrid the title. For me personally, I want to feel there are two sure bets here but looking from another perspective, I feel only Real Madrid's win against Villarreal is certain. For Atletico Madrid that would be facing a team as low as Valladolid would be having a big problem knowing the fact that Valladolid is likely to remain in Laliga next season only and only if they win against Atletico Madrid but then, I still have the belief Atletico Madrid would strip Valladolid naked by weekend.

BARCELONA FALLS WIDE!

Even though Barcelona and Real Madrid had quite a rough start this season, they were still able to wake up really strong and healthy in the middle of the season but somehow Barcelona couldn't stand strong till the end of the race.

It's not so new but Laliga craves a big change!

I personally lost hope in Barcelona winning the title when they took up a shameful 3-3 draw at Levante. Aside the painful draw, having Barcelona play Celta Vigo next made it quite easy for me to write off Barcelona's chance for this season due to the beautiful form Celta Vigo is currently observing and for the fact that they are also struggling for a place in the UEL qualifiers next season. Peradventure Villarreal wins the UEL final, Celta Vigo is likely to secure a place in the UEL qualifiers, and I think that's where the team's only hope lies!
