FX Impact vs Coke Can Video and pics
Here is video and pics of the FX Impact .30 Caliber PCP Air Rifle vs Coke Can at 30 yards. Target shooting with this is so much fun that I find myself shooting it more than any of my other rifles or handguns. It is so quiet, I don't have to wear hearing protection, and can just blast away in the yard without bothering the neighbors or having to drive to the range.
It certainly did a number on this can! This is a long way from the old daisy red-ryder style or even the forearm cocking models that I grew up with using the much smaller .177 caliber pellets and BB's. I can't believe it blew the can in half and the top landed 9 feet away!

It sure packs a punch for an air rifle. Does it kick much when you fire it?
My brother got .22 air rifle for Christmas one year and the first time I fired it the scope cut me just above the eye. That was a rookie mistake holding it too close. Then when I saw my Dad he had the same cut on his brow from firing it earlier. We just weren't expecting it to kick like that and didn't give it the respect it deserved.
No, not really any kick to it. I've never heard of anyone getting scope bite from an air rifle, but I suppose possible on some. That is usually due to not having the stock planted firmly into the shoulder and also not keeping your face against the stock. Even with larger "real" rifles, those two things should protect against getting bitten.

Yeah that's all it was, we both picked it up and thought we were playing with a toy gun. We'd been shooting a shotgun with one hand for a bit of a challenge a few days earlier and didn't give the air rifle the respect it deserved. I've never seen another air rifle that kicks like that since.
