Jubilant Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard

Rangers recorded a remarkable 2-1 away win over perennial city rival Celtic in reverse fixture of the Scottish Premier League popularly known as the Old Firm Derby. Having lost the 1st fixture 0-2 at their own back yard Ibrox Stadium, the Steven Gerrard tutored side ensured revenge by inflicting 1st defeat in 16 matches across all competitions on Neil Lennon and his Celtic side.

It was a derby match worthy of a feisty rivalry tie, with no shortage of controversy and drama, and it all began to unfold just after the half-hour mark(32') when Celtic won a penalty against the run of play for an infringement inside the box. Celtic's Ryan Christie stepped forward to see his kick saved by Rangers' goalie Allan McGregor.

Four(4) minutes after the spot-kick save, Rangers took the lead. Borna Barisic inswing was met, 1st-time at the near post by in-form Ryan Kent. A well-deserved lead for the away side Rangers, having dominated proceedings.

But then, the lead lasted just 6 minutes as the home side Celtic hit back in a rather controversial circumstance. Callum McGregor's ambitious effort was deflected into the Rangers' net by his teammate Oddonne Edouard's hand. Surprisingly, the centre referee Clancy Kevin awarded the goal, under FIFA reviewed rules, he shouldn't have.

However, Rangers wouldn't go down without a fight, and they regained the lead deservedly in the 56th minute. Once again, Rangers' left-back Barisic with his 2nd assist of the afternoon, the Croatian's pin-point corner-kick was headed home by centre-back Nikola Katic.

Alfredo Morelos

There was time for a late drama as Rangers' bad boy Alfredo Morelos(90' + 6') got his marching order for simulation in added time of regulation time. Morelos' 7th red card in Rangers' colour(3 seasons).
