Aaron Rodgers Was So Frustrating To Watch Against The Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles beat the Green Bay Packers 34-27 in Green Bay. It was a pretty good game. The Packers offense finally woke up but the defense played poorly. It was a big flipping of the script that they have used so far this year.

It was only a matter of time before Rodgers and new coach (and offensive guru) Matt Lafleur got on the same page. Rodgers has over 400 yards passing, and Carson Wentz had less than 200 yards but the only thing that matters is that Wentz won the game.

Rodgers putting up big numbers is a welcome sight, but that’s what makes a few plays of the game extra troubling. There are two times in the game that stood out negatively. Both occurred in the second half. On one drive late in the game with the Packers down by 7 they had first and goal from the 1 yard line. Rodgers has 4 incomplete passes in a row. Not once did he try to run it in himself. That was inexcusable and very odd in my opinion.

The second time that Rodgers was perplexing to watch is at the very end of the game. Again the Packers were down by 7. This time they had first and goal from the 3 with less than a minute left and 2 timeouts. Rodgers threw on first down and it was intercepted after a fluky bounce. I know that the Packers rum game wasn’t stellar but at least try to run the ball a few times to punch it in. Hopefully they can learn from this and actually finish drives the right way.
