NBA Playoffs: LA Clippers trounce Dallas Mavericks, 1 step closer to advance to the next round.
Recap
Clippers fans are rejoicing as Playoff P appeared instead of Pandemic P. Paul George lead the LA Clippers to a 154-111 dominating win over the Dallas Mavericks, taking game 5 of the series and now leading 3-2.
George scored 35 points to lead the way for the Clippers after 3 straight subpar games, with Kawhi Leonard shouldering the load. George made 12 of his 18 shots, and went perfect at the free throw line 7 out of 7. Kawhi Leonard added 32 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists to round of the win.
This was a must win game for the Clippers as they were beaten by a buzzer beater 3 pointer from Luka Doncic last game. A Mavericks win on game 5 would shift all the momentum to Dallas. Luka Doncic lead the way for the Mavericks scoring 22 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. The absence of star player Kristaps Porzingis is really hurting the Mavericks, as his production could have helped them this game. Porzingis was ruled out for game 5 with a knee injury, and will also be a doubt to play for game 6.
Predictions
I 50/50 for game 6
For the Clippers to win:
- Paul George was the difference today for the Clippers if he continues this kind of play for game 6, I can see them closing the series in 6.
- George and Leonard will have playoff experience advantage in closeout games, which can pull the Clippers through.
For the Mavericks to win:
- Luka Doncic will need to carry the load once again and produce a marvelous display.
- Porzingis playing will also be a huge factor.
Calling Game 6 will be tough, but I think I will go with the Clippers for Game 6.
