Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge suspended and fined for breaking FA betting rules - governing body want further punishmen

Former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has been hit with a football ban and fined £75,000 for breaking Football Association betting rules.
Sturridge was charged in November following an investigation into bets made in January 2018 when the forward was departing Anfield on loan.
He joined West Bromwich Albion with Newcastle United, Inter Milan and Sevilla also having shown interest.

On Thursday the FA released a statement about the 11 charges Sturridge was facing - of which he was found guilty of two.
Those two charges, relating to information Sturridge had given to his brother Leon instructing him to bet on a possible move to Sevilla, was proved by the Regulatory Commission.
The commission have imposed a six-week suspension from participation in any domestic football matches (including friendlies) on Sturridge starting from July 17.
