Philippe Coutinho officially joined Bayern Munich on loan from Barcelona for one season. Bayern have the option to buy Coutinho at the end of the 2019/2020 season.
Barcelona through the club's official website ensure Coutinho will join Bayern throughout the 2019/2020 season. Bayern will pay 8.5 million euros and Coutinho's salary for the next season.
Bayern also have the option to buy Coutinho for 120 million euros at the end of this season. Barcelona thanked Coutinho for 1.5 seasons at the Blaugrana. Purchased from Liverpool in January 2018, Coutinho appeared in 75 matches with Barcelona and scored 21 goals and 11 assists. The Brazilian collected two Spanish League titles, one Copa del Rey and one Spanish Super Cup.
Coutinho has reportedly been released by Barcelona in recent weeks. The former Inter Milan player was rumored to be Barcelona's medium of exchange to get Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain.
Coutinho became the second big name who was recruited by Bayern on loan in the past week. Last week, the German League champions managed to borrow Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.
Before Coutinho and Perisic officially went to Bayern, Die Roten had managed to get Benjamin Pavard, Lucas Hernandez, Jann-Fiete Arp, and Mickael Cuisance.
