The words from Zidane in his new management speech at the beginning of the season was that the whites are going to be battling for every title. Six months into the season and the signs are the French coach is damn serious with his statement.

Real Madrid have been known for recent years as a team of European competitions and willingly allow Barcelona dominate Spain. Aside the 2016/2017 season when Zidane snatched the league title with two points from the Catalans, it has always been Barca's title for the past decade.

Real Madrid can look back at their domestic title success and justify their relaxation as they have won a huge 33 la liga titles with Barca sitting at 26 at the moment. Six seasons of free giveaway to Barcelona and they are yet to reach the landmark of the Spanish capital club and now you can understand why Real Madrid pull out of the title race before Christmas holiday season after season recently.

Things are different this season, it appears a strict warning has been sent to the players over allowiy Barcelona dominating the La Liga as it gives them the feeling they can always beat the whites anytime, anyday.

This season, Real Madrid are level on points with Barcelona and almost won them on their own turf few days ago. Ever since the lar loss against Mallorca, they have never lost a game both domestically and in abroad competitions. The players are running their hearts out to earn the three points or at least, a point.

Athletic Bilbao is Real Madrid's last hurdle this year and they would be hoping to stay level with Barcelona, (who won Alaves today to go three points ahead) heading into the new year. A win against Bilbao tomorrow will only push forward the motion of Real Madrid prioritizing the La Liga this season.
