Barangay Ginebra last won the PBA Philippine Cup in 2007 under former head coach Jong Uichico.

This is what the Gin Kings want to hold after claiming their third PBA Governor's Cup crown in the last four years.

“Well, we're certainly going to go for it. You know, we feel we have the tools, ”two-time PBA Grand Slam champion coach Tim Cone told his Ginebra after closing out their best-of-seven championship series Meralco at 4-1.

One of Cone's alleged tools was Stanley Pringle acquired by the Gin Kings from NorthPort Batang Pier in place of Sol Mercado, Jervy Cruz and Kevin Ferrer.

62-year-old Cone said Ginebra was crowned in the 12th crown and achieved his 22nd title as coach, which Pringle can help them a lot.

"He lifts the whole team because he lifts the crowd and he does a lot more out there than you think - he rebounds, he defends, he's good at making steals and he's a great scorer and passer," Cone praised the 32-year-old a Fil-American playmaker.

In a 105-93 thrashing of the Gin Kings against the Bolts in Game Five, Pringle finished with 17 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds and 1 steal.

Cone will only give Ginebra a few days' rest before preparing for the 2020 PBA Philippine Cup taking place on March 1 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

"We are going to have a substantial break so we will be able to kind of recharge our batteries and get keyed up for the All-Filipino," Cone said.

San Miguel are aiming for their record sixth consecutive Philippine Cup crown.

Meanwhile, Cone and San Miguel Corp. offered sports director Alfrancis Chua wins the Gin Kings victory over SMC president and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ramon S. Ang and his son, Jomar, at the hospital.

“Boss RSA, he put this team together. I just get to coach them, ”Cone said. “But he deserves all the credit and he knows everything that's going on.”
