While the Ballon d’Or ceremony was going on, Christiano Ronaldo was absent to witness it. Instead, he attended the Serie A award. It was said that Ronaldo didn’t step out of his car until he was announced the winner (Best Serie A forward MVP award). The former Manchester United and Reak Madrid star was nominated for the Ballon d’Or but got displaced by lionel Messi winning it for the sixth time.

Many people were concerned about why Ronaldo refused to attend the ceremony, but it isn’t the first time it's happening. Both Christiano and Messi didn’t attend the last year Ballon d’Or won by Luca Modric.
