Something different about Modric Ballon’dor

Luka Modric is a very fine midfielder. I have been following him since when he was in Tottenham. He has been awesome with his style of playing and how he handles ball. Within the 2018 world cup, Croatia did very well in the competition and they played well till they got the final against France. They lost to France in the final but they were rated high for the decent position they took, and for the achievement in the world cup. Before this period, Real Madrid won the champions league with Modric playing in the competition as well, and these two key achievements was decent enough to award any player the Ballon, D or. But if we remember some years ago, when Wesley Snider got a similar achievement in the Champions League and World cup something different happened and Messi was giving the award then. During that period I had this thought that there is politics in the decision, but anyway, what can anyone do about the voting and the person they gave the award.

The achievement of the Champions league that came through for Real Madrid was as a result of the collective effort of the team guys which include C Ronaldo. Sadly, Portugal could not get decent achievement in the world cup. The period at which Luka Modric was the world best was the worst part of his career. I have never seen where the current world best will not make it to the top three of another year, but in the case of Luka Modric, he could not make it to the top ten. I think that is a shame. Also, the world best should have a great effect on the team he is playing for. Real Madrid suffered many humiliations last season and the world best could not do anything about it. I am not saying all these because I don’t like Luka Modric, I like him but because I think Ronaldo played better than he did that season. He was only lucky that Croatia was able to qualify for the World cup final that year.

I was just playing around the internet and I checked the list again. The list got me thinking and it is the reason I wrote this post.
