Thiem's Loss Was A Shock
World number 4 Dominic Thiem crashed out of the Rio open in straight sets. It was a hard fought battle but I really didn't see anything other than a straight forward victory for h today.
His opponent, Mager, is outside the top 100 and isn't known for upsetting the top players. I suppose that's the draw of tennis - upsets tend to happen fairly frequently other than for the big 3.
Thiem's also the French Open and Australian Open finalist. If this result is anything to go by, I think we'll be seeing a lot more of Djokovic, Nadal and Federer even though they are well past their prime.
