Odion Ighalo has implied he could be back playing for the Super Eagles only weeks after declaring his retirement from international football, reports soccernet.ng.

The Chinese Super League striker stunned Nigerians when he declared his retirement from the national group following the Super Eagles win against Tunisia in the third-place match at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

After to vanquishing the Carthage Eagles, Super Eagles chief, Gernot Rohr uncovered the previous Watford man has resigned from the national group. “He has been very strong for us,” Rohr told ESPN. “And it is sad, that he wants not to continue. But the door always is open for him any time.”

The previous Watford striker at that point took to his social media pages to affirm Rohr’s remarks, saying he is finished with the Super Eagles.

In any case, following his declaration, NFF President, Amaju Pinnick uncovered he has addressed him to turn around his choice. Be that as it may, Ighalo uncovered he has not taken a choice yet as that time, saying he should counsel his family before choosing.

“If I am going to reverse my retirement, I would need to consult with my family and my club. I respect the president of the NFF, but the reversal of my retirement is certainly not one that I can take alone. I need to consult with others before I take a decision.”

It currently appears he has settled on a choice after he posted an image of him with the Super Eagles on twitter with an enigmatic subtitle, saying “Coming Back Stronger.”

Ighalo’s rebound will be an immense lift for Rohr and the Super Eagles who start their qualifiers for 2021 AFCON in November. He became the second Nigerian to win the golden boot at the just ended AFCON competition in Egypt, scoring in games against Burundi, Cameroon, Algeria and Tunisia
