Chelsea ’s billionaire owner was in Salzburg to see his side beat Red Bull Salzburg 5-3 as they prepare for their season opener at Old Trafford.
It took £57.6m to prise Pulisic away from Borussia Dortmund in January, but the Blues have only just started to benefit from his quality.
The American was the standout in Chelsea’s pre-season contest and he has revealed that Abramovich made a point of approaching him after the full-time whistle.
He said: “It’s great, he said hello to us after and it was a good night. He told me: ‘Welcome to the club’, just being nice.”

Pulisic’s quality was evident in his second goal which included a phenomenal first touch and finish.
But the strike was only made possible by a bullet pass from Ross Barkley, who himself impressed immensely in Austria.
And Pulisic, who is nicknamed Captain America, may have already found himself his ideal comrade.
“He’s an easy guy to play with,” he added.
“I wasn’t sure he was going to see that pass for the goal. But he picked me out from, I don’t know how far away it was.
“It was perfect. I kind of received the ball with my face but it was good. We had a good connection.
“I made the run and thought ‘please make the pass’ and he did, it was perfect.”

There is plenty of debate about who Frank Lampard will choose in his midfield from their game against Manchester United.
N’Golo Kante has been an injury doubt, but if he is fit will return to his position at the base of Chelsea’s midfield.
It means Barkley is vying with the likes of Jorginho, Mason Mount and Mateo Kovacic for the remaining two spots.
But if the Evertonian’s link up with Pulisic is Salzburg is going to be a regular occurrence then he should find himself firmly cemented in the starting XI.
