Frampton, a Belfast featherweight had a large ornament accidentally knocked over and hit him on his left hand which left him with a broken bone(5th metacarpal) during his stay at a Philadelphia hotel.

The injury left him totally devastated and disappointed. As before the injury, he was seen running on a treadmill in what he called his “last hard session” and that he was focused on the fight.

The injury freak serves as a another major setback in the Belfast fighter's campaign to be a world champion again. The 32 years old Northern Irishman recently considered retiring after his shock defeat to Josh Warrington last year December before he starts preparing to fight again this summer.

But a court case adjournment with his former manager Barry McGuigan caused a delay.

Frampton expressed his anger and disappointment on Twitter but was thankful it wasn't his head the ornament fell on instead.

I had the perfect training camp, my weight was perfect and I was feeling strong," he added.
"Luckily the ornament hit my hand and not my head, for it would have killed me. It was absolutely bizarre, you couldn't write it.
"I've lost a purse, a potential shot at a world title and 12 weeks away from my wife and kids - I'm angry.

However, he still has plans to go for a world title in his next fight.

Frampton has been a champion a world champion both at super-bantamweight and featherweight levels and was signed to US promoter Top Rank in a multi fight deal in March.

I think it would only be fair if they grant him that. All the best to him.
