Today’s Champions League Matches!
Did you hear the sound? There will be many decisive matches today, and I call them bangers. Before we start, let’s talk about what happened in the Premiership yesterday. After a loss, a draw, Arsenal finally get a win under the management of Freddie. It was a deserving win for them and I congratulate Freddie for this one. :)
Today in Group E, Napoli will play against Genk. Napoli is already sitting well with 9 points, but they can’t afford to lose the game if they want to continue in the League. Genk is having only one point down the bottom. Salzburg will play against Liverpool, the defending Champion, and the leader of the Group, but Liverpool must not also lose the match if they want to see the next phase of the league. If Liverpool loses to Salzburg, they will be on the same point with a goal ahead of Liverpool. Also, if Napoli wins, they will have 12 points leading. They are all in tight match, but I see Liverpool and Napoli qualifying to the next round.
Group F is another tight Group here. Inter and Borussia are at the same point. Barcelona is already saved as they have 11 points sitting well on top of the table. Borussia Dortmund will play against Slavia Prague who is sitting down the table. Dortmund will win, but Can Inter Milan beat Barcelona? While Barcelona does not need the match, it could be hard for Inter to beat them. Also, if Inter and Borussia win, Borussia will need more goals to have more goals than Inter to qualify. This is another fun group.
Group G has its Drama. Benfica will battle with Zenit and Lyon against Leipzig. Leipzig is sitting well with 10 points on the table, and Lyon as 3rd with 7 points. Zenit is also having 7 points. There are this possibility for every team here to get something for themselves so it will be the clash of Titans.
In Group H, Chelsea seems to be saved because they are playing with a less strong team, Lille. They (Lille)have lost 4 in their games in the competition and only drew one. So they have 1 point down the table. Ajax will battle with Valencia, and both of them need a win to move to the next phase. While Ajax set well with 10 points a loss to Valencia will get them over 10 points leaving Ajax to third on the table. This will be a very interesting match to watch.
