May 19, 20: AutomaticWin, MSP Waves, Putzing, Xbox, and Games

Up at six today and another hour short on sleep. I really felt like taking a nap in the afternoon, but I ended up keeping myself awake.

Chatted for a while with @jackmiller, especially about the crazy new HR 6666 that has been proposed in the US Congress. I looked up and read the actual law...and while there isn’t anything explicit about chipping people or anything like that (as the conspiracy theories would have you believe), it does provide $100 billion per year to fund “mobile health units” that may be used for keeping people quarantined in their homes.

To be completely honest, it could be interpreted either way. I don’t see anything outright nefarious about it, and the numerical significance of the bill is nothing more than coincidence, but the resolution is very broad and could be easily be abused.

Did the usual morning routine and was surprised to find the STEEM price rising. I was sitting on @wenchebakken’s powerdowns and decided to pull the trigger. She actually had some bitcoin right now. 😁

Of course, most of the news and discussion is revolving around the insane Steem HF23 that steals about 26 million STEEM from users. I’m not afraid of my funds being stolen or anything, but I’m scared that the exchanges won’t support it anymore and I won’t be able to get the rest out. I suppose what I’ve gotten already was a bonus.

It’s starting to warm up a little (and supposed to get nice here in the next couple days), but we still had a bit of drizzle from time to time.

The tree out front is properly blooming now and the flowers look a lot whiter than before, but they definitely got freezer burned.

Got a chance to get a pic of a Cardinal. We couldn’t get very close, though, and the light was low, so the picture came out sort of grainy.

Did a swing down by the lake. Looked a bit dreary with the grey skies hanging overhead.

The geese families were congregated down by the boat launch. Some of the babies are really getting big!

In the afternoon I played a little Wolfenstein on the Xbox (got two more guns maxed out - only like three more to go for the full cheevo). I didn’t play all that much, though.

Went over to the Town Hall on MSP Waves for a couple hours listening to the discussion regarding the Steem fork and it’s consequences (one bonus seems to be a thirty day powerdown...nice, let me out!).

I got most of the connections apart on the washer and finally was able to remove the motor. The outer windings are definitely copper clad aluminum, but the inner windings look like pure copper. Unfortunately, the cross sections are so small that I really can’t tell.

Turns out, though, that HCl reacts violently with aluminum, so that will be an easy test. Seems like muriatic acid may be the answer to all my problems.

The wifey is working later this week, so I just had some cereal for dinner and then we watched some Stargate.

Yay! Back to normal again in my dCity. No robberies today, and I got my 51 SIM. 😀 My plan is an Apartment and then a Police Station (enough workers and then reduce the crime rate). Looking like that will take somewhere north of two thousand SIM, still a way to go.

I didn’t even come close to finishing my Holybread tasks today. 😡 I’m right up against the same guys as always.

Still holding in the seventies, though, and have saved over two million breadcrumbs so far.

For my Splinterlands quest today I got Water splinter. I suppose if I’d been satisfied with Diamond III it would have been a lot less painful.

I got up into Diamond II and so I really wanted to get my quest done up there.

Unfortunately, after literally five times of getting into Diamond II and then losing, I finally got fed up and completed the quest in Diamond III with a potion.
