After fifteen years of his career, the former Chelsea, Middlesbrough midfielder and captain of the Super Eagles, Mikelannounces on Thursday afternoon, that he has retired from international football

His post on Instagram read;

Egypt is a country where I've started and have finished mY National career. In 2006 I played my first official championship for my country. 2019 African cup of nations marks my last championship with super Eagles.

My national career started in 2003 in U17 world cup and I'm grateful for the national tram for placing me on the world arena and giving me opportunity to show my skills
And also attained an overwhelming national and international career

Thank You all my Nigerian supporters

Mikel will be missed

I was surely expecting this, the man has done alot for his contry. It is definitely time to make another decision partaining his life. To me, he is a legend in his own way, I wish him the best.
