All eyes were on Gareth Bale after he scored within minutes of coming on in Real Madrid's win over Arsenal, and Real Madrid coach Zinedine has admitted he was happy for the player.

Bale's future has been in the headlines over the last few days, particularly after Zidane himself said Los Blancos were looking to move him on, but even after a good performance in the shootout win, the Welshman's situation remains the same.

"He [Bale] played a good game, and I'm happy for him," Zidane said after Real Madrid's penalty win over Arsenal.

"As with everyone [else] he is with us and will continue working. I don't know what will happen. He wanted to play, and the other day he didn't.

"We played well when it was 10 against 11, and were better when it was 10 v 10. I haven't spoken to him.

"He's trained normally and that's why he played. Nothing has changed, you know the situation."
