If you Score a Goal Don't Forget Who Passed the Ball to You. It's a popular proverb in Nigeria strictly street proverb.

What it simply means is that in life when you have achieved your dreams gotten to that your dream place. Don't forget those who had helped you in one way or the other. No one is self made, that is the most foolish and big fallacy of all time.

You never got anything all by yourself, you. Can never achieve anything just by yourself. You need the help and assistance of other people around you.

Nothing you have that had not been given to you, you must not be proud and full of yourself about what you have or achieved.
Your bank account balance is someone's tithe or even money for his miscellaneous stuffs.

Like a similar proverb "when you have climbed the top, don't forget those who hold the ladder for you to climb.
Someone or some people in the journey of your life must have assisted to get you where you are now. Stay humble

Just like in the sports, especially Football. When you score a goal, don't forget the person that passed the ball to you. Because the game of football is a team work and collective efforts,. If you think you did it yourself and you are the overall best and Bette than your team mates, if they refuse to pass the ball to you, then you won't be able to play alone.

So it is in life, don't think you are too smart, so impotant and so wise that you don't need anybody in your life. Then you will die slowly.
We need each other like football players needs each other to win a game.
Be humble and always acknowledge those who have been of help to you no matter how little you see it and see it as a duty to help others too.
