Sport movies "Warrior"

There are countless movies with a sports theme.

You can see Charlie Sheen playing Baseball in Major League or watch Samuel L Jackson coach a Basetball team in Coach Carter.

They often share the same story.

A team of underdogs comes together and against all odds they succeed and become better humans on the way.

Usually there is a dragic event before the big game to raise the stakes.

Dont get me wrong there are plenty good ones out there and my favorite one is following every cliché which is out there but still it seems to be "easy" to write a sports movie.

My favorite one is "Warrior" an MMA Drama about two estranged brothers, a big tournament, an alcoholic as father and a dead mother.

imdb give the movie a well deserved 8.2 and rotten tomatos 83% and 92% audience score.

Pretty much every sterotype you can come up with is happening in this movie. Sounds actually pretty bad on paper but the movie is done so well in every aspect that I gladly turn a blind eye to that fact.

The acting, the soundtrack, the fight scenes everything seems to fit and I totally got sucked into it.
If you have not seen it do yourself a favor and watch it. It is definitive worth your time.
