The unknown score

In almost every sport athletes can read the score and know if they are ahead or behind.

Except many combat sports.

While you usually have a feeling how you doing point wise, sometimes the judges can see it totally different.

There are so many upsets that you can find multiple top 10 lists on it

I cant help but wonder if it would be beneficial for the athletes if they would know for sure if they are ahead or behind on the judges cards?

Some MMA matches can be quite boring to be honest and I can see that if one wrestler knows he is ahead that he could stall rounds a bit too much.

On the other hand it would push the fighter who is behind to go for the ko/submission a bit more as he knows that is his last chance to get his hand raised and interviewed by Joe Rogan if he lost the rounds before.

As I mentioned usually a fighter and his corner have a good idea how the fight should look on the score cards but if this usually the case why not have the score cards revealed after each round?

Is it to make rigging the scoring easier?

I agree seeing the scoring would give the participants more of an idea of how they were doing and it should be possible to give the scores in-between rounds.

That's something I hadn't thought of, but I think it could help. It might really push a different game plan if they knew they were down

One of the reasons why you should always try and knock your opponent out. I have seen so many shocking decisions and normally it is the losers own fault for leaving it up to the judges. Everyone sees it differently, but then again home town decisions happen very often.

"never leave it in the hand of the judges" is probably one of the most said sentences on TUF for a reason
